Please note that the NKCUSA Puppy & Veterans Sweepstakes is a separate entry from the National Specialty! Double check your entries to make sure you have entered correctly if you are entering both events.
Eligibility for Sweeps is as follows:

Specialty Price: $121/night, no pet fee
NKCUSA has reserved a block of 15 rooms at the Best Western Cotton Tree (only 4 miles from show site!) at $121/night with no max number of dogs and a waived pet fee for entrants of the specialty. Rooms available until April 9, 2025, at which point they will release any unreserved rooms to the public.
Reserved Grooming
Reserved Grooming forms can be found on page 32 & 33 in the premium. Grooming will be in 10' x 10' individual horse stalls. Electricity in reserved grooming is on a first-come-first-served basis and not guaranteed, so people are encouraged to bring a small generator.
NKCUSA has reserved 1 stall for club use (welcome table and club storage space, not for crating) and requested that all individual reservations for kooikers be grouped together in lieu of one large reserved space because of the restrictions created by the stall walls.
YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATION IF YOU WANT RESERVED GROOMING SPACE
Remember to say you are with the kooikers on your grooming reservation form!

Memory Book Ads
Every household attending the specialty will receive a commemorative Memory Book of the event in their welcome bag! This is a specially printed schedule of all things kooiker happening during the cluster. Kooiker enthusiasts can purchase ad space in the memory book to brag about their kooiker**, announce upcoming litters, advertise their kennel or business, or show off their pack! Deadline for ad submission is April 16th.

Special Kooiker Events
Showcase your kooiker's versatility and participate in our Highest Hondje competition!
Kooikers qualifying in 2 or more different events at the show are declared "Komplete Kooikers" and become eligible to compete for "Highest Hondje" at the NKCUSA dinner and awards banquet on Saturday night. Pre-registration is required - see link below
Events for the Highest Hondje competition are:

Conformation ("qualify" means winning a breed class with at least one other competitor showing)

Competitors may enter different classes within the same event category, but MUST QUALIFY in a minimum of 2 seperate events to be eligible for a Komplete Kooiker and entry into the running for Highest Hondje (example: conformation and obedience or agility and rally and fastCAT).

The Highest Hondje will be crowned and awarded a special prize based on the total overall qualifying events in all categories for the 3 eligible days.
All Komplete Kooikers will receive a special ribbon.
A $10 entry fee and pre-registration form for the Highest Hondje and Komplete Kooiker are required.

Highest Scoring Kooikerhondje in Obedience, Rally, Agility, & FastCAT
A special rosette will be presented to the highest scoring kooiker in the different performance events on the designated days as follows:

Show Handling Seminar
Learn to show off your kooiker like a pro!
Come learn how to handle your kooiker at this exclusive kooiker-only handling seminar taught by Louise Brady, handler of the only kooiker to make the cut in the Sporting Group at Westminster, the first kooiker awarded a Sporting Group 1 in the AKC, first Best In Show winning kooiker, and first and only Multiple Best In Show winning kooiker!
Louise will provide tips and tricks to make you and your kooiker shine in the show ring after the conclusion of BIS judging on Thursday, May 1. Admission to the seminar is free, but limited to kooikers only.
Please bring your kooiker, show lead and collar, plenty of bait, and a smile!

Scent Work Demonstration
Curious about the rapidly growing sport of AKC Scent Work?

Come on down to the host hotel for a free scent work demonstration by licensed AKC Scent Work Judge and kooiker owner, Emma Vescovo!
Demonstration will include a brief lecture about what scent work is and the different elements of the sport followed by a showcase of one or more elements run by a variety of Emma's kooikers!
Bring your questions and curiosity!

Judges' Education Seminar
Join us for Judges' Education with Deborah Bean and Douglas A. Johnson!
Ever wondered what the judges learn in order to be able to judge the Nederlandse Kooikerhondje breed at a show? Now is your opportunity to come and listen in on the in-person judges' education seminar presented by Deborah Bean, one of the original team members of the group that translated the VHNK judges education seminar from Dutch into English, and highly respected AKC conformation judge Douglas A. Johnson, the only breeder to ever win Best In Show at Westminster with two different breeds. You will get to see the slide show full of information about the breed, what judges should be looking for, and lots of pictures of different kooikers from around the world. The seminar will take place Saturday morning at the show site.
Attendance is $25. Pre-registration is required.

NKCUSA Dinner & Awards Banquet
This year's annual NKCUSA dinner and awards banquet will take place Saturday evening at the show site in the 4H building.
Catering will be by local restaurant Siragusa's Taste of Italy and include:
